Hmm... Let’s see, what my little brain is cooking today. Caution: Its "cooking" not "Cooking Up".
Early morning I had one major task to complete which was pending for the past week. Being the starting of the new month, all of us are aware about the payments we need to make all across. For me, everything was done with one payment due. The amount for the payment was minimal, but the torcher you have to go through to actually make this payment is too much. Now the thought must be, there would be a lot of travel involved or too many transactions to make or probably a lot many phone calls. But no, no such hassle, rather the torcher involved was to see the face of my supposedly Building owner, to whom I need to make the payment of the monthly maintenance. She is again a south Indian (with absolute no offense, I simply dont get along well with south Indian grownups). Now this lady has a special bias towards my family (putting me on the top of the hit list). It would not be fair if I do not describe how she looks.. It’s quite simple to imagine her. Think of our very famous religious Icon KALI MATA!! One Dark shade heavy Silk saree, with white powder on the face (tats applied for sure with an intension to at least look white if u cannot really become fair)... A big maroon round Bindi .. a big bunch of gajara to fill up her head and your nostrils with that everlasting fragrance.... and with all this a brain.. Which has nothing to do, but sit and curse people around!!
Now with this kind of description, you can be rest assured that my husband would just not be interested to meet her, and thus the responsibility was passed on to me with all and much honor. (Thanks Dude... I am overwhelmed!!)
After getting ready for office, it took me at least 10 mins to settle the thought in and finally proceed to her apartment to face her. I reached there and knocked at the door... waiting for the CHANNDI to appear.. She finally did and without losing a second she started off.. “1200 maintenance nahi hota... 2000 dena padega", she said. Excuse Me??????? I looked at her, trying to be cool thanking God for giving me such a great start to the day..!! (SARCASM). "Kyun?" I asked.. Check out the statement ahead.. (both the words and emotions behind it)" Tere ghar bahut log aate hain.. ISLIYE"!! Oh, I see... I said and my brain was already thinking of some escape mechanism... The only tool I had that moment was "ANGREZI". She was alone there as her family was probably still busy fighting for the quantity of powder to apply on their faces. Now, she is not quite well versed in the Universal Language, and so I blurted out whatever came to my head in English of course and ended the statement with "SO... Chill Aunty" and turned and walked out before she could call her saviors.
Came back to my house... Burning with anger.. !! Had to drink two glasses of Chilled water to calm me down and to restart my day!!
"busy fighting for the quantity of powder to apply on their faces "... LOL !
